Here are some photos from our community.
Illinois' fertile farms once covered Lake County's expanding suburban landscape. Originally a natural slough, Lake Antioch was formed by a dam constructed at the north end of the lake in the early 1930s. It is estimated that the shallow lake reached its capacity in three years, providing a maximum depth of eight feet and average depth of five feet. Today the lake bottom has several ownership parcels. The majority of the lake is deeded to the Friends of Lake Antioch, a nonprofit organization represented by residents of the five lakeside homeowners associations: Sabrina Manor, Landmark Pointe Subdivision Property Owner's Association, Mystic Cove, Sunset Ridge Subdivision Association, and Antioch Hills Property Owner's Association.

Just under three-fourths of Antioch Lake's three-mile shoreline has been developed into beautiful residential subdivisions. Lake view and lakeside real estate properties, along with area vacation rentals, make Antioch Lake and the community of Antioch an ideal place to call home for a week or a lifetime. The undeveloped portions of Lake Antioch's shore remain wooded land. Nature's peaceful setting attracts residents to Lake Antioch's water. Allowing no motorized boats and no public access limits the noise and activity on the lake, creating a quiet haven. Boating, fishing and wildlife viewing make up the majority of activities on picturesque Antioch Lake.

Swimming beaches can be found within select Lake Antioch subdivisions. For residents living beyond lakefront property, boat access to Antioch Lake can also be found within several subdivisions. To monitor unauthorized lake use, Friends of Lake Antioch requires boats to display lake stickers and unaccompanied guests to carry lake passes.
